Make time for your partner- Even though you have a new baby that requires a lot of attention, your spouse needs attention too. Anything to show them you still care and appreciate them.

-
Encapsulate your placenta!- Studies have shown, (facts listed on this website as well), placentophagy to be a big help with postpartum complaints including depression and anxiety.

Sleep. Sleep. Sleep- I know it is hard, but when that baby is sleeping, SLEEP. All the house work can wait until tomorrow.
-
Exercise- Plenty of exercise has shown in study after study, to reduce the chances of depression in the masses, and postpartum is no different! Get that stroller out and go for a walk. Baby will love the outdoors too.
-
Ask for HELP- Be kind with yourself and ask for help with the baby when you need a break. Even just laundry or making a meal or two can take a lot of stress off of your shoulders.
-
Be Realistic in your expectations- Just because Angelina Jolie and Princess Kate are out and about in white dresses the day of their child's birth, doesn't mean you should expect that from yourself! You are doing fine, momma, take it easy.
-
Don't be afraid to ask for professional help- If you have a history of depression or see signs in yourself even after trying all the self help tips, ask for help from your care provider. If you do not have one to reach out to, check out the resource list on this website to get help. Don't be ashamed. There are great treatments and people who are out there waiting to help you through this. Don't do it alone.
